Author, composer and performer, Fabio Viscogliosi is known since 1998 for his live performances with The Married Monk, his gigs with Yann Tiersen, the recording of Yann Tiersens record (Tout est calme) and finally with the last Married Monk album called Rocky for/in which Fabio wrote and sung on two tracks (Holiday and A spasso) et covered Ancora Tu from Lucio Battisti. In Spazio, one discovers the poetic universe/world of this song and music writer, who either is a crooner (whose childhoods lullabies were sung by Adriano Celentano and Lucio Battisti), or a sound experimentator (Brian Eno, Robert Wiatt) but in all cases with a gift in writing obvious melodies, influenced by Bo Diddley, Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Marc Bolan, Soft Machine, Taxi Girl, Suicide, The Shadows. On this record, Fabio played most of the instruments (various keyboards, guitars, bass), except some appearances, for example, Christian Quermalet (The Married Monks singer) on Apache or Jean-Michel Pirès (Married Monk, Bosco). Fabio is a genuine versatile artist, applaused for his illustrated books (edited by Le Seuil ou Lassociation) and has been given several awards/prizes : Lile du chat " (AlphArt in 1996 at the Angoulêmes comics festival), Le Pacha (Blutch drawings, Great Prize/Award of Bolognes international Fair for children books) and his set of drawings Hyper-espace in the newspaper Le Monde). |
